Taj(2024)

Taj is a Syrian Arabic-language historical drama series aired during Ramadan 2024, set in Damascus during the French Mandate era. The story follows Taj, a former boxing champion who is falsely accused of collaborating with the French occupiers and wages a relentless struggle to clear his name while upholding his patriotic principles. The 30-episode series was written by Omar Abu Saada and directed by Samer Al Barkawi, with a high-profile cast led by Taim Hassan and Bassam Kousa — reuniting the two for the first time in 14 years — alongside Faia Younan, Noura Rahal, Joseph Bou Nassar, and Andre Skaff. Produced by Lebanese producer Sadiq Al Sabbah under Cedars Art Production, the series was notable for its large-scale production, which included the construction of two entire period neighbourhoods for filming.
