Mesh Basita (It's Not OK) is a 2017 Lebanese national awareness campaign video produced by the KIP Project on Gender and Sexuality at the American University of Beirut, in collaboration with the Lebanese Ministry of Women Affairs, using the hashtag #Mesh_Basita to assert that sexual harassment must not be normalised and should be subject to legislative reform. The campaign's centrepiece video ad — subtitled "Not a Fool" on IMDb — starred Lebanese actress Natasha Choufani in a staged elevator harassment scene that was deliberately released without context, going viral across Lebanese and Arab media before being revealed as a scripted piece, sparking nationwide debate. Deployed across social media, billboards, and television over six weeks, the production prompted hundreds of women to share personal testimonies online and renewed calls on Lebanon's parliament to pass dedicated anti-harassment legislation.
