Mafkoud (Kidnapped) is a 2020 Lebanese drama-thriller feature film written and directed by Bachir Abou Zeid — his debut feature — produced by Beirut Film Institute and distributed across the Arab world by MAD Solutions. The film follows Sari, a man abducted during the Lebanese Civil War who, now jailed for the murder of a friend, must uncover the truth about his past to prove his innocence and resume his search for his mother, embarking in prison on a journey through his deepest memories to reclaim his identity. Starring Ayman Ghali, Natasha Choufani, Julian Farhat, and Layal Badaro (Syriani), the film sheds light on the fate of the thousands of Lebanese who went missing during the civil war (1975–1990) and won the Kamal Mallakh Award for Best Directorial Debut at the 36th Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival in November 2020.
