Aswad Fateh (Black but Light)(2020)

Aswad Fateh (Black but Light) is a 30-episode Egyptian-Lebanese drama series that premiered on the Shahid platform on 27 September 2020, filmed largely in Beirut and Egypt. The series follows Rania Khattab (played by Lebanese superstar Haifa Wehbe), a wealthy businesswoman whose life is upended when she is suddenly accused of murder and ensnared in a web of betrayal by those closest to her, launching her on a path of revenge to reclaim her name and fortune. Written by Amin Jamal and directed by Karim El Adl, the ensemble cast includes Motasem Al-Nahar, Rogina, Ahmed Fahmi, and Sharif Salama, among others. The series drew wide audience attention upon release, with Wehbe's portrayal of a steely, wronged heroine generating notable discussion across Arab media.
