Passing of the great artist and former president Antoine Kerbaj

The great artist and former president of the Lebanese Actors' Syndicate (2005–2009), Antoine Kerbaj, has passed away, leaving a rich legacy that remains a school for generations. The syndicate mourns its former president before the Lebanese and Arab public.

His love of acting surfaced early; he studied in Ras Beirut and earned a history degree at Saint Joseph University. He met Monir Abou Debs and co-founded the Modern Theater Troupe, which played a leading role in the evolution of theater in Lebanon and the Arab world.

He delivered timeless stage roles from Macbeth and Oedipus to Ionesco's "Exit the King," and formed a lifelong partnership with the Rahbani Brothers in works such as "Sah el Nom," "Jibal al-Sawwan" and "Petra," before moving to acclaimed television and cinema roles.

Antoine Kerbaj was a titan of Lebanese art and a master of voice and presence. May his memory remain a source of inspiration and eternal artistic light.
